"My life keeps moving faster, stealing precious days that pass. I want to hold on longer - want to recognize your lasts..."
- Karen Kingsbury, Let Me Hold You Longer
While we often photograph the firsts, we fail to recognize the lasts. The last time your son will kiss you on the lips without being embarrassed. The last time your daughter will want to dance with you to princess music. The last time you'll nurse or feed your baby a bottle. The last time you can hold your growing child in your arms.
My oldest is 11. I'm not sure when, but sometime years ago I could no longer hold her and dance. I could no longer give her piggy back rides. She started turning her cheek for kisses. It may be impossible to know when a last moment will take place, but we can be present in the moments we have and maybe hold onto the lasts a little longer.
I hope you will let me photograph you being present with your children. Your laughs and snuggles. Your dances and twirls. I hope I can capture these moments for you before they turn into a last.
Mommy and Me Sessions will take place in pictured location in downtown Georgetown, KY on May 5, 2018. Book your session HERE.
