Cake Smash sessions are my second favorite sessions, closing following newborn sessions. It is so fun to watch each one-year-old's reaction when you sit them in front of a cake. They usually start off timid...you can see them wondering why they are allowed to eat this massive piece of sweet food we have set in front of them. And then, they get that first taste and their eyes light up. Some them go for it, smashing it and making a huge mess. Some eat a lot of it. Some take a few bites and are over it. You never know what they might do, but regardless it's so fun watching them experience!
I photographed Scarlett's momma when she was pregnant in the snow about 2 years ago. It has been a favorite session of mine! You'll want to see the highlights of her maternity session HERE.
Here are many pictures from Miss Scarlett's cake smash session. She was so smiley and had so many funny expressions. I LOVE that she went face first into her cake and that wasn't just once. Multiple times, over and over she'd take as big of a bite as she could. So funny!

Headbands, clothing, bonnets, and props are all available to my clients.
I am so happy you are considering me to be a part of this special time in your life! I know how overwhelming it can be to find a photographer you trust to photograph the most valuable little human in your life! I realize I am often one of the first "non-family members" (outside of hospital staff) to hold your new baby and I consider that a huge honor and responsibility.
I offer new parents a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere where they can watch their newborn be photographed. I remove the stress that portraits typically cause by providing everything you need including clothing, props and accessories. I will create timeless images of your new family and your baby that you will cherish deeply...even more than you realize now. As a mother of 3, my oldest now 11, I know I would give anything to slow down time. While I can't slow it down, I can freeze it by capturing your moments that create beautiful memories.
My studio is located in Georgetown, KY just 30 minutes from Lexington, KY. I hope to meet you soon!
